J-school photo assignment: Someone Working

August has kicked into gear at Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism. Um. Right. So far, it’s pretty disorganized and more than a little silly, with lectures telling us students that we’re the creme de la creme, future industry leaders, yadda yadda yadda. Hella pretentious. 

This first month consists of really basic classes, designed to try and bring everyone to the same level. 

For the required Intro to Photo Skills class, we were given the assignment of shooting someone at work. I feel so Ivy League, quick, someone slap me.

Here’s one of my high school best friends, Kate, bartending at Public Assembly.
